The new LLNE news is launched! You can find it our website here. Check out the most recent issue for member news, information about the upcoming conference in Philly, a review of the most recent LLNE meeting, and regular columns like Miss Nomer.
We are pleased to welcome Tiffany Camp of the University of Connecticut School of Law Library as the new co-editor for LLNE News, along with Kyle Courtney. Tiffany is in the Access Services department and has worked at the UConn Law Library since 2012. She has also worked at the Hartford Public Library as a branch manager. She graduated from the University of Virginia and received her law degree from UConn Law. Tiffany is also a member of AALL’s Black Caucus (including its Community Service Committee) and is the Scholarship Chair of SNELLA. She has already had a good start in her communications role for LLNE as she took fabulous pictures at the recent LLNE Spring meeting hosted by UConn Law!

The new LLNE News is here!
We have some great articles to offer this issue. Our guest columnist this issue is former Philadelphia resident Lisa Junghahn. She has a list of great sights, experiences, and food in the City of Brotherly Love for our AALL meeting. She has also designed a Google maps link for us to find those great places. (Here’s the link – read the article too!)
We are also introducing a new column from the public law library perspective. The Head of the Trial Court Libraries of Massachusetts, Marnie Warner, has written great piece on law libraries and access to justice. And our own Stephen Salhany gives us his insight into the victory of the Boston Bruins from a research perspective, of course.

She has great new series for our newsletter called “Thinking about Technology.” We also have a special memorial article about the late Prof. Morris Cohen, one of the nation’s most influential law librarians.

The LLNE Service Committee is pleased to announce two upcoming volunteer opportunities with Community Servings, an organization that prepares, packages and delivers meals to individuals homebound with acute life-threatening illnesses and unable to shop or cook for themselves. The events, both associated with the organization’s annual Pie in the Sky fundraiser, will take place Saturday, November 10th and Saturday, November 17th. Pie Box Labeling and Distribution to Restaurants
Saturday, November 10th
9:00am – 2:00pm
Greater Boston Food Bank
Help make and label 13,000 pie boxes at the Greater Boston Food Bank. After labeling, we’ll deliver bundles of pie boxes to the restaurants that will fill them.

Additional details will be provided once confirmed. Last year a large group convened at Hynes Convention Center to help bake extra pies needed to meet the impressive demand. Depending on this year’s numbers, shifts will be planned for either the morning or afternoon of November 17th. Please let Jennifer know if you are interested and when you might be available to assist that day.
