Closed all state and federal holidays.
ParkingPublic parking is available behind the Cross Office Building or in the parking garage on the corner of Capitol and Sewell Streets. Parking can be more difficult during the Legislative Session.
DirectionsThe Library is located in the State House on the corners of Capitol and State Streets in Augusta. The west entrance, facing the Cross Office Building, is open to the public, and the Library is on the 2nd floor.
AccessibilityHandicapped parking spaces are located between the State House and the Cross Office Building and on the Capitol Street side of the west entrance. From the lower parking spaces, enter the Cross Office Building, take an elevator down one floor, and use the connector to the State House.
SecuritySecurity procedures in place for all visitors to the State House. Maine Capitol Police are conducting entry screening, similar to airport screening procedures, of all visitors to the Maine State House.

All other materials must be used in the library.
Members of the community must obtain a library card before borrowing any library materials.
Open to public these hours:As a general rule, Monday through Friday 8am - 6pm and closed all weekends and holidays. Library hours are subject to change, call 207.780.4817 for updates.

SecurityThere is security at the public entrance and you will have to go through a metal detector.
ResourcesThere is public access to Westlaw (time of session may be limited due to demand) Printing is $ .25 per page. There is staff only access to Lexis and BloombergLaw.

WiFi is available. Ask at reference desk for a password.

There are vending machines in the basement and on the second floor.
LendingBorrowing hardcopy titles is limited to library members only. Only lawyers licensed in Maine qualify for membership.
ParkingParking is available at meters on the streets around the courthouse. There's also a parking garage which charges:
