Hours | 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday Irregular night and weekend hours when the House or Senate is in session. Closed all state and federal holidays. |
Parking | Public parking is available behind the Cross Office Building or in the parking garage on the corner of Capitol and Sewell Streets. Parking can be more difficult during the Legislative Session. |
Directions | The Library is located in the State House on the corners of Capitol and State Streets in Augusta. The west entrance, facing the Cross Office Building, is open to the public, and the Library is on the 2nd floor. |
Accessibility | Handicapped parking spaces are located between the State House and the Cross Office Building and on the Capitol Street side of the west entrance. From the lower parking spaces, enter the Cross Office Building, take an elevator down one floor, and use the connector to the State House. |
Security | Security procedures in place for all visitors to the State House. Maine Capitol Police are conducting entry screening, similar to airport screening procedures, of all visitors to the Maine State House. |

Borrowing Policies to Public | General Treatises -- 4 WEEK LOAN with additional renewals All other materials must be used in the library. Members of the community must obtain a library card before borrowing any library materials. |

Security | There is security at the public entrance and you will have to go through a metal detector. |
Resources | There is public access to Westlaw (time of session may be limited due to demand) Printing is $ .25 per page. There is staff only access to Lexis and BloombergLaw. WiFi is available. Ask at reference desk for a password. There are vending machines in the basement and on the second floor. |
Lending | Borrowing hardcopy titles is limited to library members only. Only lawyers licensed in Maine qualify for membership. |
